Ghana, UK Trade and Investments Exhibition launched

Ghana, UK Trade and Investment Exhibition (GHUTEX), which gives opportunity to Ghanaians to market their goods and services in the United Kingdom has been launched in Accra.
The premier trade and investment event designed to showcase products and services of Ghanaians and UK businesses, and expected to be held in September, 2014.
The exhibition, which will be a three-day event, is aimed at creating and strengthening linkages among businesses from Ghana and United Kingdom.
GHUTEX 2014 seeks to provide the platform for businesses in both countries, to network and trade among themselves.
Aside the exhibition, a business roundtable meeting, led by industry players and prominent business leaders across the world will discuss a wide range of topics including trade, investment, and business opportunities in both markets.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Operation Director of GHUTEX, Kwabena Afriyie Asamoah assured all businesses, especially those in Ghana who will be part of the exhibition to have confident in the organizers and promise the event will be one of the best in the world.
According to him the core mission of GHUTEX London 2014 is to promote international trade and investment through multi-lateral exchanges, strengthen existing linkages, partnerships and co-operation among participants and also to encourage inward investment into Ghana.
He said ‘we remain convinced that this is not only good for business but also good for living standards among participating countries.’
Akwasi Agyemang, Managing Director of Global Media Alliance, co-organizers of the event noted that building strong business relationships and alliances is undoubtedly a prerequisite for business growth and expansion.
He added that the UK and European market holds great business potential and opportunities for Ghanaian businesses. This fair is opportune, as it will connect entrepreneurs in both countries and create linkages for them to grow their businesses.
The GHUTEX event will take place at Excel London located at the Victoria Docks from 25th to 28th September, 2014.

ABL launches chibuku super in Bolgatanga

Mr. Thomas Nii Ponku, Supervisor in charge of Chibuku Super at ABL told Daily Express that the management decided to launch the Chibuku Super drink in the Upper East region because they’ve realized it is similar to a traditional drink in the region. “Chibuku is like a well developed pito, a traditional drink made from fermented millet or sorghum in the Northern part of Ghana. So the idea is to provide them with similar drink,” he added. Mr. Nii Ponku disclosed this when members of the Institute of Finance and Economic Journalists (IFEJ) toured the facility of ABL to acquaint themselves with the expansion project at the factory. He mentioned that after a feasibility study, they realized there is a potential market for the product in the northern part of Ghana

Various barbering shops scattered across the country charges according to the location of the shop. The nature and sustainability of every barbering shop depends on the location of the shop. The location will determine how much one can charge a customer for barbering his or her hair. Checks indicate that some barbering shops located at Spintex, East Legon and Osu Oxford street charges between GHc15.00 and GHc20.00 per hair cut.
