UTV now available on GOtv


MultiChoice Ghana is pleased to announce the expansion of its offering of local channels on GOtv with the addition of United Television Ghana(UTV). This local channel is the official television station of The Despite Group, which owns Peace FM and Okay FM.

UTV features a variety of television programmes including news bulletins, dramas, telenovelas, blockbuster movies and other entertainment shows. UTV is acclaimed as the ‘most local television station in the country’, largely due to the channel’s keen interest to satisfy the local Ghanaian – a commitment that is embedded in their tagline 'it's all about you...'

Speaking on the new channel, MultiChoice Ghana GM, Cecil Sunkwa–Mills, says this channel launch is in line with the MultiChoice’s efforts to provide a diversified range of local content that will appeal to its GOtv subscribers across the country.

“We are pleased to have UTV join the GOtv and MultiChoice family and we believe that this addition to our growing list of channels will enhance our subscribers’ viewing pleasure as well as expand the range of quality local content on our platform as well as encourage the production of quality local content,” adds Cecil Sunkwa – Mills.

UTV is available to GOtv Lite, Value, Plus subscribers on channel 94

Shortage of weighing cards hit major hospitals in Accra

Checks by this paper revealed that while some of the hospitals have being encountering the shortage for about a year now, others started experiencing it six months ago. In place of the Child Health Record Book (weighing card), the nursing mothers are given a single card on which information of children are recorded on it. Those hospitals identified are the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Korle Bu Polyclinic, Kaneshie Polyclinic, Adabraka Polyclinic and the Ridge Hospital. ABL launches chibuku super in Bolgatanga

Mr. Thomas Nii Ponku, Supervisor in charge of Chibuku Super at ABL told Daily Express that the management decided to launch the Chibuku Super drink in the Upper East region because they’ve realized it is similar to a traditional drink in the region. “Chibuku is like a well developed pito, a traditional drink made from fermented millet or sorghum in the Northern part of Ghana. So the idea is to provide them with similar drink,” he added.
