NET2 TV Launches on GOtv Ghana


MultiChoice Ghana is thrilled to announce the addition of yet another local channel onto the GOtv platform, to boost the platform's local content offering in Ghana.

Net2 TV, launched in 2008, has a 24 hour broadcast of daily programs from religion, news, current affairs, entertainment, soaps and series, sports, movies and lifestyle for all ages. Its quality and innovative programs seek to go beyond the limit in delivering total viewer satisfaction. Net2 TV also has programs targeted at rural communities.

Net 2 is available on channel 98; viewers can look forward to quality shows like its award winning morning show “The Morning Edition” as well as the popular current affairs show, “Hot Seat”

Speaking at the signing of the agreement, Ms. Anne Sackey the Public Relations & Marketing Manager of MultiChoice Ghana stated that GOtv was excited to have Net 2 on board as part of its strategy to increase its offering of local channels on the GOtv platform. “GOtv is delighted to partner with a channel like Net 2 that showcases Ghanaian culture and talent through shows like “Kasahare” and “Madwuama”. 

“We are glad to be on a platform with a wide a reach as GOtv and hope that the partnership between our two organizations will go beyond content and platform provision to include production.  We will also play a role in the distribution and sale of GOtv to make it easy for our consumers to go digital” added Mrs. Stella Agyapong, the Managing Director for Net 2 Television.

Recently, GOtv has launched several local channels, including GTV, TV3, Metro, Viasat 1, Fiesta, TV Africa, Joy News, Adom TV and Joy FM, YFM and e.TV Ghana. The new local channels are available of the GOtv Value and Plus bouquets (GHC36 and GHc 45 respectively) as well as on the GOtv Lite package for an annual administration fee of GHc 27 per quarter.

ABL launches chibuku super in Bolgatanga

Mr. Thomas Nii Ponku, Supervisor in charge of Chibuku Super at ABL told Daily Express that the management decided to launch the Chibuku Super drink in the Upper East region because they’ve realized it is similar to a traditional drink in the region. “Chibuku is like a well developed pito, a traditional drink made from fermented millet or sorghum in the Northern part of Ghana. So the idea is to provide them with similar drink,” he added. Mr. Nii Ponku disclosed this when members of the Institute of Finance and Economic Journalists (IFEJ) toured the facility of ABL to acquaint themselves with the expansion project at the factory. He mentioned that after a feasibility study, they realized there is a potential market for the product in the northern part of Ghana
