Construction and mining equipment dealers, DEM Ghana, has launched the John Deere range of construction and building equipment in the country.
The addition of the robust and world acclaimed John Deere equipment to DEM Group portfolio brings to four brands marketed by the company. DEM Ghana is a subsidiary of DEM Group, who are also distributors of Hitachi, Wirtgen Group, and Combi Wear Parts.
At the launch of the John Deere construction equipment in Accra Thursday, United States ambassador to Ghana, Gene Cretz said Ghana's growing demand for infrastructural improvements makes the introduction of the machines timely.
"The John Deere brand and the quality product it represents has a history dating back to the early days of the United States. Working with farmers and construction professionals, John Deere has literally helped build America", he stated.
The American ambassador was confident Ghana's infrastructural development would also be boosted by the John Deere quality equipment just like the United States.
Already the John Deere equipment are renowned in Ghana's agricultural sector.
Patrick de Bantel, General Manager of DEM Ghana, said his company's long years of experience in dealing with heavy machines is a key factor in the brands they invest in.
He said despite being a relatively new entrant in the Ghanaian market, DEM Ghana's priority for technical support and after sales service for John Deere range of equipment and all their brands will be the reason customers will chose them.
"We are training of our operators and technicians and putting in place training facilities for operators of all our customers", he said to emphasise the company's customer focus approach to business.
He said DEM Ghana acknowledges the difficulty contractors face in procuring the expensive equipment and so has put in place flexible payment packages.
"We are about to finalise agreement with SIC Finance...to provide credit facilities [to customers] for our products and we are looking to get more partners to finance our customers", he revealed.
